Youth Arrested in De Leon Cash Theft Case
Bob Littlejohn of Comanche and De Leon was arrested in Fort Worth for stealing 287 dollars from Ralph Carnes the previous Sunday in De Leon. Seized 175 dollars, a suit of clothes, and a watch bought with the money. He faces jail in De Leon and is also wanted in California for Army desertion and forgery charges.

No Social Tax On Farm Labor In 1940 Ruling
The Department of Internal Revenue ruled that labor on farms operating hay balers threshers hay mowing or grain combining is agriculture labor and non taxable for social security. The Log Cabin Convention holds its second annual meeting near Beattie on Sunday August 31.
