Comanche County celebrates at Lake Eanes Park with the Old Settlers Reunion on Friday starting at 10 a.m. A provided barbecue at noon from local merchants and a program of talks and singing will feature contests with prizes for the oldest attendee, the farthest traveler, the largest family, longest county residence, oldest native, prettiest woman, ugliest man, and longest married couple. Elmer Clark of Junction City Kansas and family visited Tidmore relatives while in town for the event and attended a funeral in Santa Anna.

The Comanche East Side Baptist Church revival runs August 19 to August 28 with Evangelist Rev. Louis Wunneburger of Austin teaching the Book of Revelations at 10 AM. Evening services begin at 8 PM, led by Rev. Harry Hames who praises Wunneburger as a strong Bible teacher and preacher with a message for all.

The squad hopes for an out-of-town practice in Gatesville and a scrimmage vs the Hornets next week.
Ruth K Stringer leads Comanche County 4 H Rally Day at Lake Eanes Park with crafts games and swimming on August 18. Activities run from 7 00 a m to 5 30 p m with a citizenship workshop titled Building a 4 H Citizen and a noon lunch.

Mrs. Betty Parker and Eunice Gray of Fashion Beauty Shop Comanche completed a special training course in Advanced Hair Styling and Cutting at Gary's Beauty College Brownwood. The Comanche beauty operators were presented with diplomas on finishing this training.
The Comanche County Telephone Cooperative will hold its annual meeting and director election at Lake Eanes Park in Comanche on Tuesday night August 30. Five board seats include three new directors from District 2 Sidney Exchange Norman Moore and Charlie Hendrix and from Proctor Hasse District 4 R L Mull and Irvin Dunn. Miss Comanche Telephone queen contest to follow. Leo Forrest of the National Telephone Cooperative Association will speak. Roy Dale Adams notes attendance prizes and refreshments.
The Comanche County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting on Thursday night August 25 at 7:00 at Lake Eanes Park. President Robert Reed urges members and prospective members to attend, guests bring a basket lunch, Farm Bureau provides bread and ice. After director elections, J. D. Jordan of Mason will speak.
Price support for the 1960 upland cotton crop will follow 1959 methods with Choice A at 32.39 cents per pound and Choice B at 26.60 cents per pound. Nonrecourse loans and purchases are capped at $50,000 unless exemptions apply. Agencies approved last year may continue, with others directed to the New Orleans CSS office for eligibility and participation details.

Comanche High School senior class of 1955 will hold a five year reunion at Lake Eanes Park on Sunday August 9. Members are asked to bring family and a covered dish for an all day outing. All who were members at any time are invited.
Pat Cagle president of the Comanche Volunteer Fire Department and Durham Peanut Company reports strong response to a fundraiser for a rural fire truck. Donations range from $1 to $150 with Newburg Community Club contributing over $150. Funds to be kept by Comanche City and fire department, targeting operation within 30 days.
