Comanche County Livestock Association holds its annual meeting and barbecue today at Lake Eanes Park. The event, hosted by secretary J R Fanes and president M Caraway of De Leon, starts at 4 30 p m at the tabernacle. Officers and directors will be elected for the year ending August 31 1945 and by law changes may be discussed. All members urged to attend.

Sam Russell Addresses Pension Group on Postwar Issues
Congressman Sam Russell of Stephenville spoke to the Victory League also called the Old Age Pension Group at a Saturday meeting. State Rep O H Moore introduced him and endorsed his re election bid. Pfc. Paul Trujillo 29 of Comanche listed as missing in action in France, per a Monday notice to his brother Dan Trujillo. He served eighteen months, two months overseas, and earned medals for marksmanship with rifle, machine gun, and hand grenade while in the infantry.

Death of Captain Allen Confirmed by War Department
War Department confirms Captain Woodrow Allen of Comanche husband of Mrs Geraldine Slider died in action in France on July. War correspondent Thomas Henry recalls Texas plainsmen fighting near Le Haye du Puits and Mont Castre with Allen’s company holding a swamp position under heavy German assault. Major Edward S. Hamilton aided a fractured battalion as two companies regrouped and pressed back enemy advances.

Vineyard Buys Moody's Cafe Renames Victory Cafe
H. M. Shorty Vineyard has purchased Moody's Cafe from Jim Moody and renamed it the Victory Cafe. The former Comanche businessman, now serving in the Internal Revenue Department at Fort Worth, plans to open at 5 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Chicken dinners will be served Sundays Tuesdays and Thursdays inviting Moody's customers and others to dine downtown.

Soil Conservation Booth At Reunion
