Ira Lane of Brownwood and Comanche was shot and killed near Carlsbad New Mexico by Charley Lassiter formerly of Comanche. The two men had been stock partners and had moved to New Mexico. Lane survived by his mother Violet Lane two brothers L D and Bryan and a daughter Imogene. Lane’s wife died years ago. A curious coincidence links Lane’s wife’s birthday marriage and death to the thirteenth day.
