Monday and Wednesday nights featured meetings about Comanche and nearby school administration. Candidates for trustees spoke on duties and challenges while critics assailed departments including English, domestic science, and athletics amid debates over library growth and budget use.
Mrs. J. C. M. Lusk born in Georgia August 27 1866 died after a yearlong illness in Sidney Texas. She came to Texas as a bride of J. C. M. Lusk lived 112 miles west of Sidney, mother of ten children six living four preceded her. Funeral held at Pendergrass cemetery conducted by Bro Young. she was educated at Fairmont Academy and taught four years.
Mrs. L. C. Ridgeway founder of the Ridgeway Hotel died at her Dallas home on Wednesday March 28 and was buried there. She lived here for years with many friends who mourn her loss as a mother to her sons and daughters. Remember to bring your butter and eggs to Slider and Lacy.
The County Track Meet at the high school drew few entrants from Gustine Hasse Cross Roads and Comanche but offered lively events. Comanche dominated many races and won the girls relay while a post-meet supper highlighted hospitality by the Communeche high school.
The DeLeon Peanut Company urges farmers to plant shelled peanuts as seed rather than field run. They claim shelled nuts cost less per acre, plant more readily, reduce skips and sticks, and improve crop yield, with ships presented to showcase the benefits.

Entomologist M. E. Hays and Co. Agent D. F. Eaton led a pruning and spraying demonstration at Culbertson orchard in Comanche County. About 15 growers covering 150 acres attended as part of ongoing San Jose scale control work on apples peaches and pears with instruction on proper spray mixing and application. Demonstrations will continue through the season with visits to other orchards and a final packing and grading session planned. records on costs yields and profits are being kept to compare treated and untreated trees.

The city election last Tuesday saw 315 votes cast with little excitement. W. L. Reeves elected city secretary and W. W. Cox chosen marshal. Aldermen elected include G. W. Jessup H. R. Lacy and Hugh Rambo. treasurer, recorder and attorney re elected were W. H. Davis G. S. Walker and J. P. Graham.
