Burglars Hit Three Local Firms Tuesday Night
Three firms in town were burglarized Tuesday night with light losses. Hall Brothers suffered 46 dollars in cash, Burton Brothers 5 dollars, and Mc Nutt’s Service Station possibly one carton of cigarettes. The safe knob at Burton Brothers was removed but cash remained locked away. Texas Rangers and local authorities investigated, suspecting one group committed all three robberies.

De Leon Man Found Dead In Car Inquest Rules Suicide
Guy Hutchins 47 of De Leon was found dead in his car on the Comanche Highway. Justice E A Williams ruled death by own action. Hutchins' funeral was in Sipe Springs with survivors including his widow a stepson two brothers and three sisters.

Mrs Ernest Tupin Dies in Santa Anna
Mrs. Ernest Tupin 39 Comanche died Tuesday in a Santa Anna hospital after weeks of treatment. Funeral services were held Thursday at Comanche Funeral Home with pastors Rev Smith and Rev John G Lambrides in charge. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery. Survived by husband, daughter Mary Ann, two week old son Ernest Jr., parents Mr. and Mrs. John A. Smith, Santa Anna, and four brothers and a sister. Married January 28, 1940. Mrs Tupin was a Baptist Church member.

Interest grows in the Comanche County Round-Up and veterans picnic to be held at the Alexander Ranch three miles west of Comanche on Sunday April 20. Fire damages Little's Grocery on North Austin
Fire of undetermined origin badly damaged Little's Grocery at 703 North Austin shortly after midnight on April 5. Damage to building and stock estimated at 5000 by Fire Chief Bob Graham. Lon Burt, who lives next door, discovered the blaze and sent in the alarm before the Little family awoke. The store operator H. C. Little had bought the business weeks earlier from Bill Becker. The building is owned by W. H. Slider.
