City Girls of Hazeldell Farm Bring City Comforts Home
Mary Dell Stewart and Ann C Jensen, both veterans of World War II, relocated to Hazeldell to farm two miles east of town after leaving Dallas. They rebuilt a run-down property into a modern country home with a barnyard plan, milk from cows, a garden, pecan trees, and a yard lined with flowers. Support from L D Stewart and Dr W T Calhoun helped, while Mary Dell learned milking and both women maintain city amenities like a piano and reading material.
