Farmers in Comanche County Texas, under the 1943 AAA program, built 1,261,045 feet of terraces on 197 farms and managed 51,297 acres of contour tillage on 1,093 farms. They seeded 6,657 acres to green manure crops and built 429 watering tanks on 382 farms without cash outlay, costs offset from program payments.

Henson Couple Welcome Daughter Suann in Hamilton Hospital

Mrs Goodman Dies In Crash Near El Paso
Mrs Alpha Goodman wife of banker R B Goodman and sister of Mrs Walter Durham died instantly when her car collided with a parked truck on a highway outskirts of El Paso last Thursday night. Mr Goodman injured and hospitalized. Funeral held at their Eastland home Sunday afternoon attended by the Durhams and Comanche friends. She had strong ties to Comanche long known there and had studied at Comanche High School under Superintendent Holloway and Principal Layne. Survived by her mother and step father Mr and Mrs Parker of Eastland and by two step brothers.

Ensign Billy Neel Commissioned After Training
Ensign Billy Neel completed a four month course at Columbia University and was commissioned in the United States Naval Reserve. He went to Norfolk Virginia for amphibious craft training and was later assigned as communications officer on a Landing Ship for Tanks in Boston. Neel, a Tarleton College graduate, had studied at Texas Tech. he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Neel, long-time residents of Hico formerly of Lamkin.

Faster Sunrise Service at Comanche High School Easter
Easter Sunrise Service sponsored by Comanche High School choir and Grammar School choir will be held on the high school campus at 7:45 Sunday morning with ministers of Comanche.
