Big Colville events prepare visitors for four days
The sixth annual Stevens County Livestock show runs October 1 2 8 in Colville with the Bank of Colville Corn show and the Colville Indian Yew Kanum revival. Attractions include the Boucher French Carnival company and Symons Russell airplane flights led by Lieut. Thomas W. Symons Jr. Flights cost 10 to 15 dollars for 15 minutes at 1000 to 2500 feet. The Curtiss M4D aircraft will appear with daily dives and spirals while TruBlu Biscuit Co plans information bombing flights. Businesses will close 11 to 3 daily. Yep Kanum hats and neckties are to be worn through the event. The livestock show promises strong entries and new premiums. The stockmen banquet is Thursday at Odd Fellows hall. Officers will be elected after the banquet. Corn show entries are arriving and being posted at the Bank of Colville.

Colville Shipping Point For Big Freight Business
Colville merchants can see revenue sources in the Great Northern station activity. In August Standard Oil Co moved six tank cars of gasoline totaling about 60,000 gallons for local distribution to Colville’s district from the station. Additional case goods and lubricants add roughly two more car loads monthly. Local trade relies on Stevens County jobbers and B C mining shipments via the GN line.

Freight and merchandise movements at Colville station August report
The Colville station moved three weekly carloads of mixed merchandise and farm products, unloading sugar for storage and distributing to merchants. August saw 1 car sugar, 1 car hay, 3 coal cars, 2 immigrant cars, 1 car soap, 1 cattle car from Curlew, 1 Portland cement car, 1 automobile car, 1 salt car received. 73 lumber cars, 1 shingles car, 28 poles, 1 fence posts, 15 dolomite cars, 8 hay cars, 2 cattle cars forwarded.
