He was born July 27 1887 in Wyoming Iowa and moved to Stevens County in 1901. Survived by father W D Hanna three brothers John C Fred K and Frank L. Interment at Highland beside mother and sister Elva. Hanna known for humor and aid to others. member of M W A.

Child Drowns as Mother Fishes on Colville River
Carrie Siefke, three, drowned while fishing with her mother and siblings beside the Colville River at Orin. Mrs. E D Knauf plunged to save the child, locating the body with her feet before bringing it to shore. Knauf collapsed and was revived after medical aid. The Siefke family recently moved from North Dakota. the two other children are boys. The story contrasts with a feature on Evan Morgan and Loon Lake resort, noting its size, facilities, and annual value of fish from the lake, including mackinaw and silver trout.

Attorney Raftis Returns From Double Enlistment
Atty John T Raftis returned from Camp Lewis after four months with the judge advocate office following his discharge. He enlisted in the 91st division and served 15 months as sergeant major. Afterward he assisted Camp Lewis, drawing wills for 91st men and handling evidence for court martial. He may reopen his Colville law office.

Fishermen find body of girl drowned in river
The 7 year old Helen Wilbur of Marcus drowned when the Chalmers auto backed off the Marcus ferry on September 4. Her body was found two miles below Kettle Falls Sunday by fishermen P. F. Bowns and W. G. Tucker. Sheriff Graham, her parents, and the Marcus family identified the body. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Marcus.
