Memorial Day and Church Services Across Colville

The town observes union memorial services at the Christian church with a full program including sermon by Rev Grover C Flannery and a parade route from I O O F hall to the courthouse. Nearby churches report Sunday school at 10 am and evening sermons while noting health and travel updates for residents.

Superintendent Clark Hosts Indoor Senior Picnic at Colville High

Rain forced Colville high seniors to hold an indoor hard times picnic in the gym. Students wore period costumes, Miss Mae Stalder won for the most ridiculous outfit, Jessie Rice led in the girls race and spelling contest, Alfred Carlin won the boys race, and many games followed with cheers and memories. A gym dance with 75 students raised funds for the gym construction.

Graduation Exercises At Local Church M H High School

Graduation exercises were held last evening at the M. E. Church with large attendance. The program included invocation by Rev. George F. Kline, musical selections by Margery Baughman, a medical inspection of schools, duets by Philip Henderson, Anna Bell, and Marie DeGriet, and orations on Education and Training.

Skookum a Colville High School Annual Released

Colville High School publishes The Skookum annual with 50 pages featuring 35 graduates, color photography, and staff notes. Mary Mantz is editor, Irma Wingham assistant editor, Robert Durland business manager, and staff honors include a dedication to local citizens who supported the school. Student body elections name Edwin Rogers president, Ross Durland vice president, Beatrice LaPlant secretary, and Irma Wingham treasurer.
