Sunday Fight Ends in Death
C M Hatch 38 of Bissell will face first degree murder charges in May jury term for the death of John M Gilliland after a road fight near Gifford. Prosecutor O W Noble filed the information Wednesday. Gilliland, 60, died after a long confrontation ending with blows to the head amid a dispute over a dog and firearm.

Assault in the third degree case dropped after investigation
Hatch was alleged to assault Gilliland with a loaded revolver in a charge of intent to kill. The complaint was dropped after investigation found no grounds for action. The men lived about a mile apart with Gilliland on a rented property and disputes over fences and stock.

County Commissioner Hunt Recalled As Missouri Man Drags Road
A Missouri visitor named KB B Deshler obtained permission to drag about three miles of county road near Echo before dust. Roads improve along Spokane Columbia river valleys
In Lincoln county two districts Miles and River Homes receive small funding and rely on donation labor to smooth and widen road beds along rivers and uplands.
