Stevens county farmers push a spring pest cleanup with a squirrel control drive led by county agriculturist E C Durdle. They have raised over 400 dollars since March 15 to fund poison ingredients and plan coordinated mixes with Washington State college help.
Chewelah and Colville chambers plan a reception at the Yale hotel in Chewelah on March 27 to honor Stevens county legislative delegates. Brown of the National Chamber will speak after honors. Senator W Lon Johnson and Representatives Al Weatherman and A I Kulzer return home pleased with Olympia results.

In Colville a group of twenty-two matrons honored Mrs. Elizabeth K. Arnold on her seventy sixth birthday with a gift of a primrose plant and carnations. Misses Mary and Ruth Mantz provided music and several guests joined in refreshments afterwards including Mrs. Charlotte King and Mrs. J. H. Loucks among others.
