Colville Bulldogs Fall At Valley Ending road trip
Colville Bulldogs lost 8 to 4 at Valley ending a four week road stretch. Sullivan started on the mound but was hit hard as Valley tallied seven hits and four runs by the fifth. Exley showed potential in right field and Graham played well as Valley impressed with veteran performers led by Sorensen and Flaherty. The Bulldogs host Valley Sunday hoping to snap the losing streak and end the jinx.

Bank Robbers Kidnap Cashier in Northwest Bank Heist
Bank robbers seized Addy State Bank cashier Clarence Ostrum and his wife early Saturday. After eight hours they forced Ostrum to open a double locked safe and flee toward Valley with the couple abandoned three miles south of town. Sheriff posse pursued for 24 hours but the trio remained at large. Ostrum and Mrs Ostrum were later located unharmed.

Corporal Elmer Connelly Laid to Rest in Colville
The body of Corporal Roy Elmer Connelly of Aladdin who died of wounds in the Argonne on October 6 1918 was laid to rest with military honors Monday June 18 in Highland Cemetery Colville Washington. He left Colville for Camp Lewis September 21 1917 and sailed for France July 6 1918. He was born January 26 1895 in Howard Kansas and was 23 years 8 months 10 days old at death. He leaves parents Luther Lee and L A Connelly brothers Luther Lee and Edmond L Connelly. The services under Frank Starr post American Legion included escort from Quinn W McCord undertakers, flag draped casket, hymns, and military honors.
