Mrs. Annie Conner wife of Mayor E C Conner died at home Thursday after years of illness Brights disease with complications caused death She lived in Colville 22 years born March 13 1873 in Hillville Armstrong County Pa Parents Henry and Sarah Jane McClure Survived by husband two sons Harold and Albert and daughter Alyce Also sisters Emma McCullough Laura Van Doren half sister Jennie Stoughton and step mother Funeral services held this afternoon at the undertakers with burial at Highland Cemetery She was active in many organizations including Rebekahs Royal Neighbors American Legion Women of Woodcraft and Red Cross activities.

Five Colville Boys Attend Training Camp
Five Colville boys George Stolts Frank Huggins Paul Hofstetter Charles Wilbur and Milton McCauley left for Camp Lewis to spend a month in a citizen training camp. They joined others after signing up two months ago when Fort Wright officers explained camp benefits. They will learn army tactics and rifle drill with a daily routine and afternoon recreation. Government will refund all travel expenses and they were vaccinated for typhoid and smallpox before leaving.

Premium List Issued by Livestock Association
The Stevens County Livestock and Fair Association printed its ninth annual premium list, a 56 page book detailing premiums and special prizes including $80 for cows with most butterfat from Old Dominion Creamery and a boys and girls under 18 prize of 10 dollars for top three pig carcasses. The premium book will be distributed in county banks and stores and by writing the secretary in Colville.

Has Too Many Wives According to Prosecutor
Prosecuting Attorney Oseer W. Noble asks the Stevens County superior court to require Ida McCaslin to post a $1000 bond as a material witness in the state of Washington vs Frank M. McCaslin case. Judge D H Carey will set the bond amount this afternoon and Mrs McCaslin remains under sheriff custody. Frank McCaslin is charged with bigamy and adultery after reportedly being married to three women and living with a former wife prior to a divorce three years earlier.

Strong Installs Radiophone for Customers in Store
Baril J. Strong outfits his shop with a radiophone system using an aerial on the roof connected to a back room amplifier. The device will broadcast received messages across the store and is touted as a modern science marvel. The set can pick up transmissions from San Francisco and Denver. It is the first radiophone installation in a Stevens county business for public patron use.

The Great Northern reports reduced traffic into Colville due to car shortages and a strike. Passenger trains run late as officials spend extra time at stations. Poll Tax Delinquents Named in Stevens County
Sheriff W H Graham takes over 5681 residents who owe the 1922 poll tax of five dollars each. Five thousand notice postcards were mailed as the delinquent drive proceeds. Some residents misbelieve the tax covered 1921 or that the law was void, amid an initiative to repeal the poll tax. Real estate delinquents face 15 percent interest on back taxes, same as personal property.
