City Adopts Metered Water Rates For Summer
Colville introduces a three tier pricing plan with 5 000 gallons at 30 cents per 1000, next 5 000 at 20 cents, and each additional 1000 at 15 cents. Rates took effect July 1, first charges due August 1. Residents can use water anytime, but must pay for what they receive.

Severe Forest Fires Threaten County Timber and Homes
Fire Warden John Welty has struggled to visit ongoing wildfires across the county while fires move from the Williams road into Echo valley and northeast of Loucks mill.
