Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Willett aged 76 wife of A B Willett died at her home in north Colville on Christmas day after two weeks of paralysis. Born March 10 1845 in Brown County Illinois she married A B Willett January 15 1874. The family moved from Anderson Indiana to Colville in 1908. Funeral services were held at the M E church with Rev George E Whitten presiding. Pallbearers and musical numbers listed.

Mackinaw Eggs Arrive for Stevens County Hatchery
Eastern Mackinaw embryo shipments totaling 165 000 eggs arrived from Sheboygan Wisconsin on Christmas day for the Stevens County fish hatchery. Fish Commissioner J Rhode will oversee incubation for distribution to Loon Deer Waits and Deep lakes when ice goes out in April. An earlier delay pushed arrival to December 25 and some eggs required grooming to remove fungus.

Seriously Injured in Old Dominion Mine Accident
James Fagan, 26, was struck by a hanging wall slab in the Old Dominion mine lower tunnel and severely injured. He was moved to Mt. Carmel hospital with a fractured back bone and paralysis below the waist, later developing pneumonia from chest pressure. Fagan had only recently been hired for Christmas work and was filling in for Superintendent Al Lynch.
