The funeral for W. H. Pryor was conducted Sunday at the M E church by Rev. G E Whitten. Music by a trio of Mrs. Ralph Willett Mrs. G E Whitten and Merle Starr. About 90 years old Pryor and roughly 50 Masons attended. Burial by the Masons with J B Thomas in charge. Pallbearers named W H Jackson W O Cummings C W Noble G W Stolts W L Sax C A Ledgerwood.

George E. Christensen, chairman of the democratic state committee, calls a state convention at Olympia May 24 at 10 a.m. to draft a platform. Stevens county earns 10 delegates based on Cox votes in 1920, with mass convention likely April 18. Squirrel Poison Demand Runs High in Columbia River District

Demand for poison materials is very keen, with the distributing team poisoning oats bait amounting to 200 ounces of strychnine. Rat Virus Fails to Eradicate Ground Squirrels
County agent reports many inquiries about a so called rat virus for ground squirrels. John Finley of the Bureau of Biological Survey says personal experiments show the virus practically worthless. He adds results only came when inoculating with a needle and urges sticking to proven formulas.

Mrs. Carroll Laid to Rest in Colville Community
Mrs. Clara Carroll widow of C. H. Carroll died at her Colville home after long heart trouble. Born Oct. 7 1860 in Iowa City she helped run Carrolls Pharmacy with her husband from 1902. Survived by husband son Burdine and sister Mrs. Crocker. Funeral conducted by Rev J M Huggins with Eastern Star and Masons music. Burial Highland Cemetery.
