The case State of Georgia vs. Wm. B. Martin, indicted for the murder of Duffee, is scheduled for trial tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.

A Patria correspondent dated Chagres April 26 reports rumors of a planned Cuban invasion. Muskets and powder are said to have shipped in small vessels to a secret point near Cuba, likely far from Chagres, with two expedition divisions and simultaneous landings planned around May 12 to 15.
A group of planters from Muscogee and Russell counties met at the Columbus Court House on Monday the 13th to form an Agricultural Society. A five member committee was appointed to draft a Constitution and Bye Laws for report at the next meeting at Concert Hall, 11 o clock Saturday morning. James R. Jones chaired, William H. Chambers served as secretary.
A large and respectable group of African Americans in Philadelphia on the 29th denounces the colonization society and its plan to deport negroes to Africa. The resolutions affirm that America is their home and pledge continued protest against colonization. They call traitorous any who aid the scheme and vow to press to end slavery.
A May 14 1850 letter from Judge Colquitt explains acceptance of delegate status to the Nashville Convention. He argues for swift, united Southern action to protect slave property and equal rights under the Constitution, warns against compromise with abolitionists, and criticizes California's proposed Wilmot Proviso approach as a political fraud. He urges bold measures to preserve the Union and warns that delay endangers slavery and national stability.
