John Forsyth and R Ellis Co publish weekly notices in a Breedom Morning edition. Subscriptions cost one and a half dollars per year in advance or three dollars at year end. Advertisements charged one dotrag per square for the first insertion and modest cents for continuations.

The Brownsville letter in the Picayune recounts Native attacks near Laredo with a death at Roma on the 4th inst and two missing persons. The Corpus Christi mail rider was captured sixteen miles from Laredo and released after being stripped to pantaloons and shirt.
Lieut Hudson with eighteen men tracked the party that seized the San Antonio mail and found their camp near the Nueces river capturing horses. On returning near the Twenty-Four Mile Water-Hole he charged the Corpus Christi raiders numbering about sixteen savages. Hudson was wounded in three arrows strikes, a soldier was killed, a sergeant died, three men were seriously wounded, and four horses were lost. None of the Indian warriors were reported killed. Hudson is not expected to survive.

Ohio and Atlantic steamers sailed with 480 and 150 passengers respectively. Second despatch reports a dreadful accident in New York on April 29 with 18 buried, 9 or more dead.
