Kansas man leaves 129 descendants in Osbourne area
OSBORNE Kan AP An elderly farmer J Henke died Sunday at 101 leaving 120 direct descendants. Born in Germany he moved to the United States as a young man and lived in Osborne most of his life. Survives include 3 daughters 3 sons 35 grandchildren 81 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at St Aloysius Church in Ostame.

Directors of the Lower Platte North Natural Resource District met in David City and heard reports on the second annual NRD conference in Kearney. Family conservation awards honored Bun Fricke Ames Hauer Rotseh. Hast Boller PFA Brainard earned an excellent award. Robert Bell received a distinguished service award. discussion covered rural solid waste aid and possible legislation to support districts and municipalities. A women’s auxiliary for the district is planned and Eloa Lake on the Alaska Highway was named after the local Indian name for fish.
