Hearing date set on state fair anti war literature case
Federal judge Warren Urban scheduled a Wednesday hearing on a request for an order to let Lincoln man Kurtenbach distribute anti war leaflets at the State Fair. The defendant seeks $1,000 in damages arguing free speech rights were violated when he was evicted and charged with disorderly conduct last week. He contends the act was a pure form of political expression. State Fair officials maintain the fair is not a public forum and literature can be handed out only if space is rented.
