The Throat Ingel Mann spruce is expected to be cut on November 17 and shipped by rail to Washington for placement near the White House ellipse.

Officials say the 16 countries imported almost 12 trillion bales of cotton in 1971 72 with about one fifth from the United States.
The Agriculture Department says the European Community will stay a large purchaser of U.S. soybeans and meal through 1980. EC demand grows as meat poultry and dairy needs rise, with U.S. beans accounting for about 61 percent of oilseeds and meals exports.
Washington reports that farmers received an average of 7.40 dollars per hundredweight for Class I bottling grade milk in early October, up four cents from September and sixteen cents above a year earlier. City consumers paid about 58.3 cents per half gallon, up 0.2 cents from September, while home delivery milk averaged 60.4 cents per half gallon, unchanged from September and 0.9 cents higher than a year ago.

U S farm exports reached a record 8 billion dollars in 1971 72, accounting for 15 percent of total cash receipts. The share dipped from the prior year despite higher overall exports due to larger production of major items. Grain and corn driven exports rose, but export shares varied with crop sizes.
