SHARPSHOOTERS 5 Olympians to compete in hunt event
Five members of the 1976 U S Olympic team will join Grand National Mixed Bag Hunt participants in Columbus on November 446 to represent The Olympians. Lanny Bassham Donald Haldeman Charvin Dixon David Ross and John Satterwhite bring Olympic medals and world titles to the event. Bassham won gold in 50 meter free rifle in Montreal and silver in 1972 Munich. Haldeman captured the 1976 Olympic trap gold. Dixon led 98x100 in the U S International Clay Pigeon Championship in 1976. Ross has Pan American gold and competed in Montreal. Satterwhite is a Kirkland Washington shooter and skeet competitor. A Celebrity Trap Shoot is slated for Saturday afternoon November 6.

Columbus High School senior Doreen Warrender is spending a year in Cali as an AFS student after applying for an International Scholarship last October and leaving in August. She lives with the Jorge Gonzales family and their daughter Teresita for the year, attends a private girls’ school, and takes courses from calculus to painting while teaching illiterate adults and taking part in volleyball basketball and choir. She plans to return to Columbus next September.
