July shows higher overall business activity than last year with dollar volume up 7.2 percent and physical volume up 16 percent. State gains matched national dollar growth but lagged in physical volume as construction recovers and bank debits rise. August indicators show a 9 percent year over year uptick in general business activity. LOUIS MO A man named Cletus Forrest told his wife he had wired two sticks of dynamite to the family car ignition. She alerted police and officers found no device. Forrest admitted the claim was false to stop his wife from driving the car and was booked on suspicion of making a false report.
