Omaha cattle and calves receipts 2400 with slaughter steer and heifer volume nearly absent. Cows at limited trading with feeder consignment in auction. Estimated next day receipts cattle and calves 6000, hogs 6000, sheep 1000. Sheep none. Prices show 250-280 lb cows around 41.00 to 41.50, 280-310 lb 40.00 to 41.00, sows 25 lower.
LINCOLN Neb. AP LeRoy Casados 33 of Alliance was sentenced to six years for civil disturbances in the Gering Scottsbluff area last January and has appealed to the state Supreme Court. A transcript and briefs will follow. A Scotts Bluff County jury found him guilty of possessing component parts of a firebomb and innocent of carrying a concealed weapon. Casados, a member of the American Indian Movement, was linked to Chicano Indian demonstrations.
Schuyler city council approved releasing 20000 of federal fund sharing for library use to buy the Otradasky building as new facilities. The contract with the Otradasky partnership sets the price at 70000 with 50000 balance due December 31, 1978. Dale Thomas of Marvin Jewell & Company discussed the audit report.
Columbus Auxiliary of the Professional Engineers of Nebraska held its October meeting at the Jerry Hagge residence. Members entertained their husbands with a steak fry and card games after.
