Meany calls for end to wage price controls

AFL-CIO President George Meany urged Nixon to end wage and price controls immediately at the Building and Construction Trades convention. He cited inflation, devaluation, high interest rates, and housing as issues, saying big business and banks feel no pain. Meany contrasted himself with economic advisers, joking he would rather be a plumber.
