The Ted Cross Bloodmobile from Omaha’s regional center will visit Columbus City Auditorium on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 20 and 21. Officials target 366 pints across the two days with donation hours 11 am to 6 pm on Oct. 20 and 10 am to 4 pm on Oct. 21. Local Red Cross organizers urge new donors and offer contact numbers for the office and committee.

Columbus Couple Hosts Floral Show And Slides Night
Legh Helen Campain and Oscar Fuller of Sars May Seed and Nursery Store led a program at the county club house on Tuesday evening for members and guests. Campain demonstrated floral arrangements in crescent, curved, triangular, round forms and other styles using drift wood and tree roots. Five door prizes were awarded. Fuller presented slides from a visit to Hat hart Gardens in Victoria BC, a former lime quarry now a private beauty spot. The event began with a ballet supper for about 40 attendees, planned by the entertainment committee including Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Herink and others.

Scotus Fund Drive Tops Seventy Thousand Dollars
Scotus Central Catholic High School reports the Scotus Educational and Drive surpassed 70 000 dollars by September end. Superintendent Emmett Meyer notes this is over 43 percent of the 166 000 dollar pledge total and the three year drive won’t reach halfway before late November. Meyer cites 1 072 dollars used from the Educational Fund in 1969 70 and projects about 53 000 needed for 1970 71. Scotus Educational Fund Drive began in spring 1969 to keep Scotus strong for any student within a Christ centered education. Scotus has been North Central accredited since 1941.
