Miss Stalker honored for SCS service in Albion

Albion secretary for the Soil Conservation Service Miss Adaline Stalker was honored at a retirement dinner at Albion Country Club attended by about 50 people. She served 14 years in Albion and 24 more after the office moved to Norfolk, receiving two certificates of appreciation.

Ford proposes 4.6 billion in federal spending cuts

President Ford sent a congressional budget message proposing 4.6 billion in spending cuts for the 1975 fiscal year, totaling 302.2 billion in outlays. He warned deeper cuts could hurt the economy and outlined 146 actions, 129 of which would require congressional approval.

CNTCC Area board approves Grand Island education center

The CNTCC area board vote 9-1 approved an Adult and Continuing Education center in Grand Island with a Dec 19 bid let. Project cost is about 725000, construction six to eight months, 16500 square feet in two modules for industrial and business occupations. Some members urged delaying until state funding decisions, while others supported early development and related leased space and budget cuts.
