Thanksgiving Nor'easter Strands Thousands Across Northeast
A powerful early winter storm lashed the North Atlantic Seaboard and Appalachians causing thousands to be marooned on Interstates 280 81 and 70 and along routes near Middleburg Virginia and Frederick Maryland. Snowmobiles delivered milk to families and locals sheltered motorists in churches and stations. A wedding party from Winchester Virginia was stranded in Middleburg as Rev Michael Noble married them at Middleburg Methodist Church. The storm produced up to two feet of snow in many areas and disrupted travel and events from Philadelphia to Albany.
