Mental health drive nets $600 in Albion region

About $600 has been raised in the Boone County Mental Health Drive conducted during September and October. Mrs. Robert Eckhoft chairs Region IV's 22 counties, with Mrs. Mack McCorkle as alternate and Dr and Mrs Ridgeway as Albion Regional Chairmen. Funds will support educational materials, drug counselor aid, and clinic office support. The Albion area has a bi monthly psychologist, Dr Joseph Hillgon of Norfolk.

Break In At the Brown Derby Sunday Theft and Vandalism

A break in at the Brown Derby on Sunday resulted in $123 in liquor and $39 in cash missing. Entry was gained by breaking the front door glass with an iron bar, door damage $75. Two fires followed trash fires, extinguished by Columbus Fire Department. One fire at Pal's Store for Homes and another at a new building site at 4004 23rd Street. Other items include gun theft from Duane Bright of Shelby and a citizen’s band radio theft from David Groteluschen of Leigh.

Bosak Named Optimist of the Month for Fundraising

Harry Bosak was announced as Optimist of the Month at a club meeting last week. He earned the honor for raising 100 dollars to fund scholastic events and youth activities including Tri-Star basketball Easter egg hunts and bicycle safety programs.
