Kissinger orders checks on Castro troop withdrawal claim
Secretary of State Kissinger said he is ordering intelligence checks on Fidel Castro's claim of pulling Cuban troops from Angola. He noted a complete pullout is a precondition for improving U S Cuban relations and said results should be known in about four weeks. He spoke after visits to Luxembourg and Stockholm and talks with Prime Minister Thorn.

In Platte County 7 844 voters cast ballots in the May 11 primary with 3 963 Democrats 3 749 Republicans and 132 Independents. Tom Kumpf edged Harold Langland for 4th Ward councilman by 18 votes. Raric Dies in Accident Near Bellwood Nebraska
David Raric age 23 of Bellwood died when his motorcycle hit a bull on Nebraska 64 west of Bellwood. The bull stood on the highway and threw Raric from the bike as Rolland Sherman followed in a car and escaped injury after colliding with the animal. Raric was returning home from work at Soil Mover Corp in Columbus.
