Two U S Air Force officers assassinated in Tehran
In Tehran a three man guerrilla squad killed Col. Paul R. Shaffer of Dayton Ohio and Col. Jack H. Turner of Carbondale Illinois as they traveled to their offices. The attackers used three cars and fled after leaving Marxist pamphlets. The bodies would be flown to the United States. Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi expressed sorrow and pledged justice.

D W F Hill general manager of the Nebraska Public Power District was honored with the American Public Power Association’s top award during the APPA National Conference in Boston Massachusetts. School bond issue rejected in Hall County vote
Rural voters in Hall and Merrick counties rejected a 942000 dollar bond for a new elementary school in eastern Hall County. The tally stood 13 opposed to 99 in favor with seven absentee ballots to be counted Thursday. District 74 serves eastern Hall and part of western Merrick.
