IBI agents testified they searched the murder site and Fryer gave a statement. he admitted being there but deny the killings. Judge James Kel ley expected closing arguments Monday. Fryer brothers James and David faced extradition and convictions. David pleaded guilty to an open murder count last February.

A joint meeting at Louie’s Restaurant installed officers for the Columbus Chapter Professional Engineers of Nebraska and its Auxiliary. James Ekstrand became Chapter president, with Dennis Kouma as president of the Auxiliary. New Auxiliary officers include Chris Montana president, Pat Breuer vice president, Sally Sack secretary, and Beth Cecil treasurer. W. James Wells of Omaha spoke, as state PEN president and partner at Bell, Garyardt and Walls.

An Associated Press survey of 50 state GOP chairs finds none advocate Nixon resignation. Of 14 who backed strong support for Nixon, 28 said he should not resign and that impeachment could unfold, 8 remained noncommittal or critical. About 33% supported Nixon, with 19 of 29 who favored continuation also backing him. Few wanted Nixon campaigning in November, but many wanted impeachment proceedings to conclude despite Watergate worries.
SCOTTSBLUFF Neb AP Registration started Friday for the 4874 Nebraska convention of the Elks Lodge. About 300 are expected to attend the sessions that run through Sunday morning.
