Five downtown break ins investigated by Columbus Police

Five break ins were investigated by Columbus Police Saturday morning. Four downtown businesses were hit Perkins New and Used Cars Brenner Furniture Kirby Vacuum Company and an alley window at Nor thern Propane in the Industrial Park. About 810 dollars worth of tools and equipment were reported stolen. The report links to unrelated national political commentary about welfare reform and President Johnson’s influence. Church made two appearances in Schuyler before arriving in Columbus for weekend activities.

Alliance Youth Traffic Victim Dies After Car Crash

Lori Petersen, 17, of Alliance, died Saturday from injuries after a one car crash southeast of Gordon. The Nebraska State Patrol reported the accident occurred in rural Scotts Bluff County as investigators examined possible factors.
