High court rules grocery store branch plan does not break laws
Nebraska Supreme Court in a unanimous decision holds that computer terminal branches in two Lincoln Hinky Dinky stores do not constitute banking branches. The ruling says federal regulation governs, finds the stores merely intermediaries, and deposits and withdrawals transfer between a store account and customer accounts. The decision preserves First Federal Savings and Loan of Lincoln’s terminal network and finds no state banking law violation.
