Beblen Community Hospital lists admissions for Phillip Snavely Boone Mrs Ollo Brauner and Mrs Emil Marx Columbus along with several dismissals. Mary Hospital records three births at 2779 36th Avenue and Creston plus dismissals. Buller County Hospital notes a birth in David City. Schuyler Memorial Hospital reports a transfer to University Hospital Omaha and multiple admissions at various locations.
In Washington the House, by 293 to 117, approved an amendment to the ESEA extension limiting busing to after all remedies fail and only to the closest school. Supporters say it signals Congress against cross district busing while opponents call it unconstitutional. Senate action pending.
The Loup Power District won first place in its category at the American Public Power Association safety contest, tallying 266,957 man-hours in 1973 with zero accidents. Chief Electrical Engineer Ken Smith accepted the Jg7d award at a Denver APPA workshop, marking a third safety honor in four years for LPD.
