Supervisors find Hall of Justice bids lower than first
Platte County Supervisors opened bids again for the Hall of Justice and found a total of about 1.54 million dollars in low bids, down from roughly 1.9 million at the December opening. The board will review with the county attorney and architect Bill Hoffman on March 26 before deciding on financing and possible alternates to reduce costs.

The Columbus Optimist Club hosts an Easter egg hunt on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Pawnee Park. Children up to 10 compete in two age groups five and younger and six to ten. Fairbury Man Falls to Death in Stromsburg Elevator
Larry Bramson 21 of Fairbury died after falling about 25 feet from a Farmers Co op elevator in Stromsburg Thursday night. Polk County Attorney Phillip Nyberg said Bramson was a workman on renovation but not on the job at the time. The death was ruled accidental. Bramson was with companions who went up to see the town at night.
