Judge says World-Herald not at fault in labor dispute
An administrative law judge ruled the World-Herald free of fault in unfair labor practice charges filed by Local 190 of the International Typographical Union. Union president Wayne Crisman said the union will appeal to the National Labor Relations Board. The dispute arose from a 1973 walkout over union jurisdiction related to electronic equipment. the judge found it was an economic strike not caused by unfair labor practices and noted bonuses were paid to supervisors, not rank and file.
