Humane officer uncovers 41 dogs at Kanawha County house
Humane officer Ken Pauley followed a hunch in rural Kanawha County and found 41 dogs in a house, some chained or caged in makeshift crates. Curtis Hoffman, 67, was arrested on cruelty to animals charges after authorities found the conditions filthy though the dogs appeared fed. Hoffman said he kept strays fed with $100 of his Social Security money and blamed the growing number on wandering dogs.

Body of Gary Kyriss Found After Eight Days Missing
The body of Gary Kyriss of St. Paul Nebraska was recovered Monday night in Sherman County Reservoir. He had been missing for eight days. A 43 year old companion, Jack Jurzenski also of St. Paul, drowned the same time and body recovered the same night. The pair were fishing when the accident occurred.

Nuclear double-barreled test felt 110 miles from Las Vegas
