Statewide measles immunization plan eyed for Nebraska
Nebraska health officials consider launching a statewide measles immunization program using a federal $5 million allotment. Health Director De. Henry Smith said details were not yet distributed, and the plan would be tailored to local needs while rubella emphasis shifts have left gaps in coverage across counties. He stressed measles complications like pneumonia and encephalitis drive the push and noted Nebraska already runs an ongoing immunization program alongside county clinics.
