Skylab 2 crew prep for more fixes before launch
Skylab 2 astronauts Bean Garriott and Lousma near Saturday launch for an 89 day mission. They carry a six pack of spare parts including gyro six to replace heated or failed rate gyros aboard the orbiting station and may perform a two man space walk if three gyros fail. They also bring a sunshade and backup heat exchanger for possible use. The docking mission follows a troubled start when Skylab 1 suffered a sunshade tear and power loss, later repaired during a space walk.
