Livestock quotations from Omaha show hogs lower with a broad price spread and cattle mostly steady to weak for heifers while cows trend higher. Slaughter lambs firm to higher. spring slaughter lambs quoted 77.50 to 38.50. Receipts: cattle and calves 5,000 hogs 4,000 sheep 550. In Lincoln eggs rise slightly with Grade A large 37 to 42 cents and A small 20 to 23 cents, poultry prices mostly unchanged. Futures trading at Chicago Mercantile Exchange noted Tuesday activity.

Omaha mother and daughter die in Kansas City shock
Police report an Omaha woman Patricia Dighton 24 and her nine year old daughter Kimberly Sue Dighton found dead in a Kansas City basement from electric shock. Patricia had burns on her body and an electric bench saw toppled beside her. The wet floor and toppled tools mark the scene. Relatives said they were moving in with James T Neill and wife while seeking a place. They arrived from Omaha Sunday and were found Monday afternoon.
