Accident kills 2 near Creston
Two young people died in a near head on crash northeast of Creston on Highway 91 at 1 20 a m Sunday. Pamela Asche 21 of rural Leigh was the driver in one vehicle and Kris Stoffel 19 was a passenger in the second. Jeffrey Reichmuth 21 of rural Leigh suffered a broken leg and nose injuries and was taken to Columbus Hospital.

Robbery and Dual Fires Strain David City Police
David City police and fire departments were kept busy over the weekend by an armed robbery at Southern XV Package Liquor Store on Saturday around 10 20 p.m. two men wearing stockings over their heads left with about 115 to 120 dollars and remained at large. Separately two suspicious fires damaged a garage at 479 9th Street destroying two cars and a residence fire at 615 1th Street caused wall and porch damage. No injuries were reported and investigations continue by Police Chief Rodney Ainsworth and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
