Grass fed animals could ease world food crisis says UW professor
Roy L Prosterman, a University of Washington law professor, told the Western Agricultural Leaders Institute at the University of Wyoming that feeding animals grass and forage, not grain, could free grain for humans and avert a potential 1980s food shortfall. He noted cattle and hogs currently receive grain that could feed millions directly. He cited surveys showing rangelands could triple forage, and argued the public should accept grass fed beef as equivalent.
