Sheldonville elevator and its legend in Platte County
In Platte County, the Sheldonville elevator near Sheldonville on Highway 8 served local farmers from 1914. Built by C. H. Sheldon and son C. C. Sheldon, it handled grain, fed livestock, milled flour, and housed stockyards before falling into disuse and being bought by Columbus Grain Company in 1988.
