Five year tax holiday proposal draws business opposition

A nationwide poll shows only 18 percent of independent business owners favor a five year income tax holiday for new ventures, while 77 percent oppose and 5 percent are undecided. Nebraska figures echo cool support as 14 percent back the plan and 85 percent oppose. Proponents argue it would offset startup risks amid inflation and competition, but many see it as unfair subsidy to newcomers and worry about loss carryforward rules.
