Yorks plan Supreme Court appeal over desegregation order
Mrs Yvonne York mother of 7 year old Raymond said she will take the case to the Supreme Court after federal judge Luther Bohanon ordered Raymond enrolled at Harding Junior High to comply with desegregation rulings. Raymond had been at Taft Junior High near his home. Federal marshals detained him when Mrs York attempted to enroll him at Tall. She claimed the government prefers punishing the powerless and vowed to press the appeal. Community support grew after the detainment at the federal building.

Mullen man dies in two-car collision
A two-car crash near Mullen Nebraska claimed three lives. Paul Rentfro, 60, of Mullen died after transfer from Mullen hospital to North Platte. His wife Shirley 32 and their eight year old son Donald perished. Two Rendro children were injured. The other driver was Melvin Tomka 32 of West Pulst.
