One-Car Crashes Studied by Deputies Near Columbus
Deputies investigated a 2 AM one-car crash east of Columbus on ath Street Road when Pat Schmidt of Bellwood drove off the road, the car demolished and a fence damaged. Schmidt was hospitalized at St Mary with injuries not yet determined. Earlier, two other one-car crashes were reported on Shady Lake Road involving John J Svoboda of Columbus who suffered facial cuts, and east on 6th Street Road where Robert J Deffres of Route 2 sustained back injuries.
