Crop rule not enforced in Nebraska set aside areas

UPI reports Senator Curtiss of Nebraska welcomed the Agriculture Department change that will not enforce the clause requiring crops to have been grown on set aside land for one year in the past three years. The move avoids forcing farmers to plow up grassland and replant to crops, affecting about 303,000 acres and reducing required repayments of government funds. Curtis had pressed ASCS head Kenneth Frick to review the situation in Nebraska.
